The Correct Order Of Applying Makeup

1.Prep the skin: Before beginning on your masterpiece it is important to prep your skin for the best results.

Use a mild cleanser to gently remove dirt or remnants of previously applied products.
After washing your face, apply toner with a cotton pad to minimise pores and follow it up with a moisturiser to hydrate the skin.
Apply sunscreen to the face and neck to protect it from harmful UVA/UVB rays.

2.Ace the base: For your makeup to look stunning all day long, your base makeup should be flawless.

Primers are arguably the most important part of your makeup routine. While you can use a moisturiser for a smooth base, makeup primers help your makeup last longer and help it appear seamless. If you often notice creasing around your eyes, also try using an under-eye primer.
There are many types of foundations you can pick from based on skin type and concerns. You should (obviously) also ensure that it matches your skin tone. Applying foundation with a beauty sponge is the most ideal way but you can also blend with a brush or just your fingers.
Once you’ve blended the foundation, cover up any blemishes or dark spots with a concealer in a shade that is complementary to your foundation.
To help make all of your efforts so far stay in place, set your base with a loose setting powder or compact. A light dust is all you need and remember to focus on areas that are prone to oiliness like the nose.

Contouring under your cheekbones, along the jawline, and your nose will help you define your features. But ensure you blend it well to avoid harsh lines.
Lightly apply a bronzer on the high points of your face like the forehead and cheeks for a natural glow.
Next, add blush to the top of your cheekbones (and blend toward the temple) and the tip of the nose for a glowing effect.

4.Eyes And Lips: You’ve prepped your skin, created the perfect base, and looked snatched. Now, it’s time for the fun stuff!

You can choose to go as minimal or as dramatic as your heart desires when it comes to eye makeup depending on the occasion. From palettes to liquid eyeshadow , the world is your oyster and you must experiment with different looks
Depending on the eye look you’re going for, using eyeliner for the lash line and kajal for the tight line will help define your eyes. Similarly, you can use mascara to define your eyelashes or use falsies for a dramatic look.
Don’t forget the eyebrows and shape them or fill them in as required with an eyebrow pencil or gel.
If you have two-toned lips, use a nude lip liner to even out the skin tone before applying lipstick or gloss. You can also use a lip pencil that matches your lipstick to exaggerate or simply define the shape of your lips.

5.Finishing Touch: This is the end of the road and you need to know a few tricks to ensure your make-up lasts long and stays in place.

The final touch of a makeup routine is to set it all in place with a finishing setting spray. Hold it at arm's length to ensure it disperses evenly and make an ‘X’ and then a ‘T’ shape while spraying for even coverage.
If you have oily skin or if the weather is humid, carry a compact with you to soak in excess oil and sweat throughout the day. Remember to retouch your lipstick or gloss if it's fading.
Using waterproof makeup in the monsoon will also help your makeup last longer.
